The documentary film DAR FUR – WAR FOR WATER (DAR FUR – VOJNA ZA VODO)

This documentary tells the story of an unsuccessful peace initiative by the late Slovenian president Janez Drnovšek (ZA KAJ?) in the war-affected areas of Sudan, which Tomo Križnar tried to carry out. The initiative was stopped by a threatening letter from the then American Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice. The film shows that the war in Darfur is not only a war against marginalization and a revolt against the greed of the Arab government for oil and other resources. It argues that the war started much earlier as a result of climate change and drought, which started a war for water.
